    @ Mayaguru
FEM technology is not unique to DMM rather its been used for years in industrial applications to stress real world designs in computers before manufacturing. Autodesk offers a software package that simulates FEA stresses on CAD designs. What the wizards at Pixelux have done is bring that technology into a realtime/VFX space for artistic exploration...IMO DMM is best thing to happen to digital destruction.

As far as Houdini goes the solid FEM stuff seems ok but all the fracturing ive seen has essentially been voronoi shattered sims with gooey elements, way less mature then the photo realistic destruction MPC and Sony are achieving with the DMM Engine.

    Thanks mandark...

Yes,I am aware of this Technology when i was putting my own personal research on it I came to know it has been tested on nuclear power plants and industrial design to test the material strength and Stress capabilities.Which is also known as Finite element analysis.

these awesome people are the one who brought this physics into computer graphics with good amount of speed and fidelity.

Any how good to hear it back from you.

    Great to hear the news!
One question. If I project texture on a DMM object using a camera projection in Maya, does the texture remain stuck to the fractured pieces in 2015 version after the break? I tried in 2014, but pieces slid through projected image.

    Regards,

    Alkesh.

You could bake the texture to a map afterwards so you dont get the crawling. by its very nature a 3d projection will crawl through deforming geometry.

Thanks... I just found a tutorial on the baking part. I will try that.
