We are working on something that will make DMM more accessible to a wider audience. Details soon.
Hi,
You can free up the license by exiting the plugin on Maya 2016, waiting an hour and then using the same license on the new machine. You will need an internet connection to do that however.
...
Soon. It should be a simple recompile. I wish Autodesk didn't break binary compatibility with every release...
We are updating the site so that we will have a better organization along with better tutorials.
The main update to the new plugin is the material regions. The use is exactly the same as density...
Another user reported this, it turned out that his DMM scale was set very small (0.01) This resulted in scene objects being too small to allow collision correctly. DMM objects should not have...
Hi Everyone,
We've decided to call the new plugin DMM 1.2 and make it work for both Maya 2016 and 2015. So if you purchase it or upgrade, it will work on both those versions of Maya. All the...
The Windows version is ready and in use. It's called DMM 2016 and the upgrade cost is $250. Please read the announcement here: http://www.pixelux.com/forums/announcement.php?f=41
Hi,
You can activate without internet access by selecting the DMM Help menu and going to DMM License. You will see an option to install the license manually there.
Apologies for the late...
We are testing the floating license system now. Our film customers are testing the updated version of the solver on some very large meshes. We are working very hard to make sure everything runs...
Hi,
Things are definitely not dead with DMM. We just finished adding some more improvements for large mesh support that have been sent to one of our film customers. Those improvements are now...
I can appreciate that. There are some good tutorials both free and paid that show how to do things with DMM, and I think the results with all the movies we have been used in speak for themselves....
Hi Rico,
I am not certain how the fields are being applied to the DMM object, but I would suspect that they are instantaneous with varying strength as the fluid emitter approaches the DMM Object....
Thanks for the feedback. We will look into adding better error messages for the upcoming release.

Hi Jim,
You can circumvent the error by re-tetrahedralizing the object. If you can send us the mesh you are having an issue with, that would be helpful. We have seen this happen occasionally. You...
Absolutely. The DMM Maya 2016 version will have some new features too. As for when, we are targeting the next month for a release.
-Vik
Thanks!
The DMM API has a lot of cool features which we will be making available in the Octane Render integrated version. The nice thing about this is that DMM will suddenly be available on every...
We are working on new versions. We are adding some new features and improving the solver. Lately, our time has been focussed on the Octane Render integration. There's just a lot of stuff we are...
Hi,
Can you tell me how many tets your scene has in total?
Thanks,
Vik
Hi Eric,
I am building it right now :-)
We've been very busy lately, so I apologize for that.
-Vik
We have not seen this happen. Can you email an example scene where it happens to support@pixelux.com?
I have simulated 300K tet scenes in the plugin without issue and our API customers regularly...
Thanks Rick!
Well we do have a number of other licensees for the DMM API besides MPC now. Sony, Mr. X and a couple of others. Our plugin is being used by a lot more people as well :-)
-Vik
Glad you like it!
We've made some improvements to the plugin - namely material regions and some other stuff that we will be releasing in an update at the end of the year (we did the work for...
I am not sure what your question is. Are you having a problem trying to add a splinter cage to a DMM object that has already been textured?
Thanks,
Vik
Yes, that is quite a bit of time. We can do that kind of motion in real-time and put it into a game :-)
Hi Michael,
On issue 1, we can look into that. If it's not too difficult, we can have it in a maintenance release before the big one later in the year.
On issue 2, as long as Autodesk doesn't...
