Well if you would actually give a certain polarity to one simulated tetrahedron (or applying a grid to one tetrahedron - depends on desired resolution) should allow to simulate even breakable...
Pure solides are one object - one velocity (well actually two - positional and rotational ;P) that needs to be calculated - and collisions just affect this whole object.
DMM splits components up...
Well like the title says - being able to splinter up a dmm object based on some 3d shaders would be really handy.
Reading documentations helps quite much bout this sorta stuff.
Check the Glue section in the doc.
Create a passive dmm bone rig and glue some flesh onto it
I recently read a nice paper about implementing magnetism into rigid body simulations and I guess FEM based simulations(including DMM) would make a nice base for a system like the one showed in that...
The Maya Learning Edition (I guess you try to use that one - as you say without paying a penny) doesn't support plugins thus you can't install dmm to it.
The Learning Edition doesn't accept plugins ... blame Autodesk ... and better don't say something like that pirating stuff ... somebody could think Pixelux supports software pirating ...
The first thing I tried wich didn't worked due missing joints was a door with a simplified realistic lock like those you can find on doors in a fence - a simple rotating bar that can snap behind a...
Time for another request.
After working for a bit with DMM now I finally noticed what is really missing:
The ability to create joints like ballsockets or hinges between certain vertices of...
That thing is awesome.
Worked like a charm and is really useful. Thank you :D
Is there a chance that sometime in future you can tile the splinter geomtry inside the DMM Object.
Like you would take the woodFloor1b out of the Splinter Library and apply it to a floor object and...
